Water Striders
The picture is composed of four elements...the Water Strider, movement from the insect, water, and blue dye. The blue dye is used to describe the movements and patterns of the water strider as it glides across the surface of the water.Living a life of faith (as opposed to living life under the control of something visible and tangible) is similar to the concept of the picture. Sometimes our movements through life seems uncertain, sporadic, and meaningless. Looking at future, we see the painfully obvious depiction of life; whatever we do, whatever decision we make is just a blur in time waiting to happen with zero significance. But taking some time to examine how our life played out will often times reveal a beautiful picture with sequences and patterns.
In the past 3 months I've made 2 drastic decisions.
I made the decision to stay. By now I could have been making plans on what business clothes to bring to China in preparation to work there. But I decided to stay because of a lot of reasons...Shannon and my job at Vanguard were just two of them.
I made the decision to go. And it still baffles me how this is going to end up, but yeah..life of faith. My stay at Vanguard was a learning experience to say the least. I learned more on the job than at any course I took for my degree. I had the pleasure of working with good people who became my friends and mentors. I was much appreciated and was about to get a big promotion when another part of my life began making waves. Micah, Pat, and I have been working on this website...and through this project, a different opportunity presented itself to me. I took it. The thing that scares me is that half of the people that I talked to advised against; furthermore, I still have trouble explaining what the new job entails! Anyways,...I'm a water strider. I know that I'm moving, and I'm moving in a direction that makes sense based on my preferences and what has been given to me in life. I don't know where this decision will lead me, all I can do is go forward in prayer, look for the patterns, and praise God for His creation.
